I’ve been sick for the past few days and haven’t had much energy to eat, sometimes even waiting until 3 pm to have my first meal of the day — it’s bad, I know. The snow makes me not want to go outside at all, leaving my circadian rhythm out of whack. This entire week, I’ve been getting my steps in by walking back and forth from the bedroom to the living room, which I know sounds ridiculous, but hey, at least I’m moving my body. Winter officially starts in five days, but it honestly feels like it’s been winter since the beginning of December.
Despite being sick, I wanted to show up for myself and do things as I normally would (aside from spending time outdoors, lol). So, I’ve been getting serious about decorating the apartment for Christmas and cooking a lot of comforting meals. One of those meals — which you know by now as it’s the headline of this newsletter — is soup. Specifically, roasted carrot soup.
