The secret to homemade movie theatre popcorn, plus my recs of the week
Popcorn. Light as air and shaped like imperfect clouds. Salty, buttery, fragrant and nutty, with a distinctive subtle crunch. Pleasurable at every bite, I sometimes forget I’m even watching a movie. After a few mouthfuls, I like to wash it down with a Diet Coke and proceed to make my way to the bottom of the bag until all that’s left is grease and salt. I’d then fold the bag, tuck it in the cup holder of my seat, and lick my fingers to taste every remnant. It’s borderline sickening to eat the whole bag in one sitting, yet if I had a chance to do it every day, I would.
